    Eliza Jane School Program – July 28 – August 1

    Calling all students! It’s time to dust off your sun bonnets and lunch pails – our Eliza Jane School program is open for enrollment! 

    Details:
    • School sessions run 9 AM – 12 PM
    • July 28th – August 1st
    • Ages 6 – 12
    • $60 per student
    • Location: the one room school house located behind the historic Methodist Church Museum

    What the EJ School Program involves:
    Step back into time for one week! Daily activities are comprised of school lessons, guest presentations (normally a skill or a craft), old fashioned song and dance, and lots more!
    There are *limited* seats available in our one room school house – this event fills up quickly every year. Call 507.346.7659 or message us on Facebook for further details or to register your child. Registration counts as commitment to fulfill payment.

    Popcorn Wagon – July 19

    The SVCHS will have a slice of Spring Valley nostalgia on our grounds once again:

    The Popcorn Wagon will be parked at the Wilder Site July 19th from 11:00-3:00 for all our visitors! 🍿🍿🍿

    Whether passing through our site on your LIW roadtrip, stopping as part of your pilgrimage to one of the pagents, or are a local looking for a sweet treat, you’ll definitely want to stop by The Wagon Saturday the 19th!

    Baked goods, popcorn, & more will be available for purchase. All proceeds support the Historical Society.

    Children’s Story Time

    New to Spring Valley Community Historical Society programming this year is our Story Hour. Join us for a brief reading of one of the Little House tales, and a craft or skill demonstration.
    This program is geared towards children 6 and under, but all ages are welcome to attend. This program is put on by the SVCHS and free to attend.

    June 11 at 10:30 am

    July 9 at 10:30 am

    August 13 at 10:30 am

    Spring Valley Historical Society’s Annual Ice Cream Social – June 20 | 5:00-7:00 pm

    We look forward to seeing friends, neighbors and community members at our annual ice cream social!

    Menu includes: Pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, potato salad, pie & ice cream, beverage.

    Freewill donation at the door with all proceeds going to support the Historical Society.
